Headteacher Justyna Powrie to take up new leadership opportunity after four very successful years leading Enfield Heights Academy

After four years as Headteacher of Enfield Heights Academy, and six years as part of North Star Community Trust, Justyna Powrie will be leaving the school at the end of the academic year to take up a new leadership opportunity.

Justyna has led the school with great vision and commitment. Under her leadership, Enfield Heights has delivered very strong academic results while driving improvement across the whole school.

A particular focus on high-quality teaching and developing a love of reading has helped create a calm, ambitious environment where children are supported to achieve their very best.

Justyna said:

“I am extremely proud to have led such a dedicated teaching team and to have seen the school grow into a place where children’s achievement and wellbeing are always the top priority.

It has been a very difficult decision to consider moving on from Enfield Heights as I love the children and our families - and I truly love my job.

As the school is now in such a strong and stable position however, I feel it is the right time for me to continue my professional development to have impact on many more children.”

Justyna will remain at the school until the end of the academic year and will continue to work closely with staff and families during this period.

Marino Charalambous, CEO of North Star Community Trust, said:

“Justyna has made a very significant contribution to the success of Enfield Heights Academy and to the wider Trust.

We understand her desire to move onto the next stage of her career and thank her for her commitment and leadership of the school since 2022 and wish her well.

The school remains in a very strong position and we will ensure a smooth and well-planned transition as we appoint an exceptional new Headteacher.”

The Trust will now begin the recruitment process and is fully committed to appointing the strongest possible new Headteacher in time for the start of the next academic year.
