Aliens invade Enfield Heights!

An invasion took place at the school with scenes which would not have looked out of place in a Star Wars movie, as the year 1s went all alien!

In a brilliant initiative held across the day, ‘alien maths’ involved solving addition and subtraction in order to get the planetary visitors to their spaceships.

The children also had to decide whether a word was real or alien, and during literacy their knowledge of sounds/phonemes was used to create alien names.

This was all in preparation for the phonics screening check in June.
