Extra support for our families this winter - Please apply.

You may have seen on the news that the Government has just committed to supporting families in need over the Christmas break and to the February half term.

They have put together a financial package which has been sent to each local authority to support families in need. Enfield Council has written to all schools to identify families that qualify for this financial support.

The support is on offer to children who receive free school meals and children in the greatest need who are not entitled to free school meals.

You are eligible to receive £15 per child per week, during the Christmas break and February half term if you:

-    Are already claiming free school meals
-    Qualify for free school meals but haven’t yet applied
-    Don’t qualify for free school meals but are struggling to feed your children due to financial difficulty

As a school, we are able to identify those who qualify if you are already receiving free school meals. However, you will need to let us know if you are eligible for free school meals but haven’t applied or if you are struggling financially.

Once we have all the necessary information we will forward the information to Enfield Council who will then arrange for the financial support to be given to you through PayPoint vouchers, the Council’s own scheme.

Please see below the criteria for qualifying for Free School Meals.
-    income Support
-    income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
-    income-related Employment and Support Allowance
-    support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
-    the guaranteed element of Pension Credit
-    Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)

-    Universal Credit - if you apply on or after 1 April 2018 your household income must be less than £7,400 a year (after tax and not including any benefits you get)

Please fill out the confidential online survey here, or call the school office to inform us if you think you are eligible for this Winter Grant. We must hear back from you by this Wednesday, 2nd December due to the deadline set by the Council.

If you currently receive free school meals, you will not need to respond to the survey.
