An outstanding year for the children!

Dear Parent/Carer,

As the CEO of North Star Community Trust, I wanted to write to you all as we reach the end of the academic year.

I wanted to take this chance to share what a very successful year it has been for Enfield Heights Academy - for Headteacher Justina Powrie, her team, and, above all, the children.

Schools are places where so much happens every day that they sometimes don’t stop to reflect on - or appreciate - just how much they’re achieving.

Outstanding results

Our children have achieved outstanding SATs results again this year.

The provisional results showed that the national average for schools was 62%, whereas Enfield Heights achieved 93%.

We expect this will place the school in the top 1-2% of performance not just in London, but across the country.

These results are not only a testament to the hard work in Year 6 but also to the strong teaching and learning that is embedded across all year groups.

What Ofsted says about the school

Ofsted judges Enfield Heights Academy to be good in all areas, including the quality of education and early years provision.

I was pleased to see inspectors describe the school as “a happy and welcoming place,” where pupils are “safe and feel valued,” and where the environment is “calm and purposeful.”

They also noted that “pupils do well at this school… they love talking about their learning and how much they enjoy their lessons… pupils are well behaved… there is a strong emphasis on promoting pupils’ character, individuality and personal development.”

A fantastic year of achievements

Beyond academic results, this has been a fantastic year of achievements and experiences that have enriched school life.

Enfield Heights has enjoyed sporting successes, impressive creative work in art and drama, and memorable community events like international food days.

Above all, there has been significant learning and progress every day across the school.

During my visits, I’ve noticed in particular how much the children enjoy reading and learning - a love that sits at the heart of Enfield Heights.

Thank you

I also want to express my sincere thanks for the strong partnership we share with parents and carers. Your involvement makes a real difference to the life of the school and to your children’s learning beyond the classroom. I’m particularly grateful to all who volunteer their time - your support is invaluable.

I am very proud of all that Enfield Heights Academy has achieved this year and look forward to even more success in the future.

Many of our Year 6 children and families will be staying with us as they go to our excellent secondary school, Heron Hall Academy.

Thank you for being such an important part of this school community.

Yours faithfully,

Marino Charalambous
