Year 1 learn about the world’s most famous carnivals

In the classroom this week, Year 1 have learnt about London’s Notting Hill carnival and the Rio De Janeiro carnival in Brazil.

The Carnival in Rio de Janeiro is considered the biggest carnival in the world with two million people per day on the streets.

Pupil’s studied the differences between the two carnivals and investigated the importance of carnivals and what they represent.

Getting into the carnival spirit, the class is now designing their own masks. They have started by painting their design and will be turning them into wonderful masks.

Well done year 1, there have been some great designs.
